Beauty and Wellness Business QuickBooks Cleanup Two rooms, one file.
A facial room and a nail room can share a company and still need their own lines, or the month becomes a single shrug.

The appointment book got ahead of the file.
The book fills up. A second room opens. A third service gets a column on the paper schedule. The file still has one income account called sales, because that was enough when there was one chair. Nothing dramatic breaks. The owner just stops being able to answer a simple question. Which room paid the rent. Which service is carrying the quiet one. The answer is a feeling. Feelings are a poor close.
Classes, or locations, are the quiet tool. The same service item can be tagged with the room. Reports then split without a second company and without a second set of passwords. A second company is a legal fact, not a reporting preference. We do not open one because a report would look nicer. If the papers say there is one company, the file stays one company and the rooms become classes.
Product can be classed too, or it can stay shop-wide if the shelf is shared. Tips follow the person, not the room, unless the room is the whole argument. The map should match how the owner already talks. If the owner says the nail room had a hard month, the file should be able to say whether that is true.
What not to split.
The bank is often still one bank. Splitting the bank into fictional accounts to mimic rooms creates transfers that are hard to undo. A deposit that belongs to both rooms is split on the deposit lines, with classes, and the bank account stays whole. The card batch works the same way. Several classes can ride inside one deposit, and the processor account stays whole.
Rent, insurance, and the front staff may serve every room. Forcing those costs into a room with a made up percent is a management report, and it should be labeled as one. It should not be buried in the income statement as if the percent were a fact. We can show a view. We will not pretend the view is the only set of books.
Catching up is allowed.
A shop that outgrows a shoebox does not need a lecture. It needs the buttons and the classes, and a month that is willing to be the first honest one. Earlier months can be corrected where the tickets still exist. Where they do not, we label the old period as closed with a known limit, and we stop the blend going forward. A known limit is more useful than a beautiful fiction.
None of this depends on a downtown or a highway. Two rooms in one building are enough. The federal items, the payroll setup, and the state return the shop actually files all read the same file. If the rooms ever become separate companies, that is a paper question first and a file question second.
Booth patterns inside those rooms are on the rent and wages page.
Name the room that disappeared.
Name the room the report can no longer see.
You will be talking to the Steven Palmieri practice.
